A full Scholarship at Badya university
Palm Hills has announced the offering of full scholarships for exceptional high school graduates to enroll at Badya University, an institution established in partnership with the University of Texas Medical Branch "UTMB". The scholarship covers all tuition fees and include career-oriented training programs that prepare students for professional success. Additionally, recipients will be granted employment opportunities upon graduation.

Badya University is established through a collaboration between Palm Hills, a leading real estate development company, and Taaleem Management Services, a prominent player in higher education in Egypt. Located in Badya City, the largest project by Palm Hills and Egypt's first sustainable and smart city in West Cairo, Badya University is set to become a cornerstone of educational excellence.
The university will host eight academic faculties accommodating 12,500 students. The academic year will commence next September, starting with five faculties: Medicine, Dentistry, Physical Therapy, Business administration & Economics, and Computing & Data Science.

The first faculty training program for teaching staff, supervised by specialists from the University of Texas, recently took place over two weeks at Badya University, further enhancing academic collaboration and offering exceptional educational and research opportunities for students and faculty members alike.
Scholarship Policy
Eligibility:
- Egyptian Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of Egypt.
- Academic Excellence: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Achieve a high school score that exceeds the minimum score announced by the Supreme Council of Private Education for each faculty by at least 7%; or
- Rank among the top 5% of their graduating class in Science, Math, or Literature for Thanaweya Amma, or in the top 5% of their entire class for each international certificate.
- English Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English by achieving a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or an equivalent score on another recognized English proficiency test (e.g., TOEFL).
Scholarship Coverage:
- Full Tuition and Mandatory University Fees: Covers the full cost of tuition and any mandatory fees for the duration of the academic program. This includes protection against potential increases in tuition over time.
- Monthly Living Stipend: Provides a monthly stipend to cover housing, meals, and other essential living expenses. The stipend amount may vary depending on the location and individual circumstances.
- Funding for Textbooks and Academic Supplies: Covers the cost of textbooks and necessary academic supplies. An annual budget limit will be set, and students must manage expenses within this limit.
- English Language Course: If needed, students will have access to an English language course to support their academic success. Participation may be mandatory for students with lower proficiency scores.
Required Documents:
- Completed Scholarship Application Form: Must be submitted by the deadline.
- National ID and Secondary School Graduation Certificate: Copies of both documents are required.
- Letters of Recommendation: Two letters from secondary school teachers. These should ideally be from teachers of core subjects (e.g., Science, Math, Literature) and should highlight the applicant's academic performance and potential.
- Proof of Family Income and Financial Need: Required only for need-based scholarship applicants.
- Valid English Proficiency Test Score Report: A copy of the IELTS or equivalent test score report must be provided.
- Personal Statement: Applicants must submit a personal statement (500-1,000 words) outlining their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and future goals. The statement should reflect the applicant's motivation and potential for success.
Application Process:
- Submission Deadline: All required documents must be submitted by the deadline on 19 September 2024.
- Evaluation and Shortlisting: A selection committee comprising university admission, and faculty members will evaluate all applications. Shortlisting will be based on academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and the quality of the personal statement.
- Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews, which may be conducted online or in person. Applicants should prepare to discuss their academic background, future aspirations, and how the scholarship will support their goals.
- Final Selection and Notification: The final selection of scholarship recipients will be made by the committee. Applicants will be notified of the decision within a specified timeframe, which will be communicated in advance.
Scholarship Renewal:
- Minimum Cumulative GPA: Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4 out of 4.0 throughout their time at the university. A probationary period may be granted if a student's GPA falls below this threshold, during which they must improve their academic performance.
- Continued Academic Excellence and Progress: Recipients are expected to show continuous academic progress towards degree completion.
- Extracurricular Activities or Community Service: Recipients must participate in university-approved extracurricular activities or community service projects. Examples include joining student organizations, volunteering, or engaging in community outreach programs. Specific criteria will be provided to ensure that the activities align with the scholarship's objectives.
