2008 MASTERS CUP @ Palm Club: A Hit!
Cairo, Egypt – September 2008 For the second consecutive year, Palm Hills Developments (PHD) bought the coveted 2008 Masters Cup to football fans to Egypt.

The tournament, which was held from the 12th -18th of September, on the FIFA-accredited football field of the Palm Club – located on the grounds of Palm Hills October compound – was a resounding success amongst players and football fans alike, who attended the week-long games and cheered on the international football stars who partook in the event, as well as family members who played alongside them.

The Masters Cup brings together some of the world’s greatest soccer legends and prominent Egyptian businessmen to compete in a friendly and memorable round of matches. World renowned players came together to offer a great sporting event, such as; Jose Emilio Amavisca (UEFA Champions League winner in 1998 and La Liga winner in 1995 & 1997) and Alfonso Perez Munoz (Olympic Gold Medalist in 1992, La Liga winner in 1995), to name a few of the sport’s legends.

This year, Barcelona was crowned the winner after an exciting final against the PHD team. The winning team was awarded trophies and a whopping $15,000 cash prize. After the ceremony, the crowd and players were entertained by a wonderful fireworks display.

After the success of the first Masters Cup and the reoccurring success of the second edition of this tournament, the third round – the 2009 Masters Cup, is sure to be one of the football events of the year.
